We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Ventilator Care Specialist to join our team at the University of Michigan. About the JobThe Pediatric Ventilator Unit at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients requiring mechanical ventilation. As a Pediatric Ventilator Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and utilizing your expertise to make informed clinical decisions.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients on ventilatory support.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory tests and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
- Document patient information accurately and effectively in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, dieticians, and social workers, to ensure seamless communication and coordinated care.
- Provide patient education and family support from admission to discharge, promoting healthy outcomes and empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Specialty certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, with two years of experience managing pediatric patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
- Graduate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
- Current DEA registration and AHA-approved BLS/PALS certification.
The University of Michigan offers a competitive salary, ranging from $125,605 to $193,013 per year, depending on experience.
