About the Role

Jacobs is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Arlington, VA. As a Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining high-quality documentation to support our client's programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation Development: Work on all phases of documentation to ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications, and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interact with content developers, technical experts, and subject matter experts to produce quality documentation and training materials.
  • Documentation Management: Effectively manage documentation to meet client document configuration requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Review and Editing: Assist in document reviews, including editing and proofing of content, grammar, formatting, and production or presentation of such products.
  • Policy Document Review: Review and edit government policy documents for grammar, format, and clarity prior to approval.
  • Standard Operation Procedures: Develop and maintain Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and other tool-related user guides/manuals on technical edit workflow, processes, and procedures.
  • Document Consolidation: Consolidate technical inputs and analyses documents for delivery and produce a logical, understandable document.
  • Document Sustainment: Maintain current SharePoint documentation libraries across multiple networks and improve overall document sustainment workflow and processes.
  • Technical Skills: Maintain proficiency in MS Office and other applications used by the client to create documents, graphics, or other deliverable products.
Requirements
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Management, or related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant work experience.
  • Writing Sample: Provide a writing sample.
  • Editorial Background: Strong editorial background with exceptional skill in proofreading and creating, implementing, and ensuring adherence to technical style guides.
  • Technical Skills: MS Office skills, Adobe, and SharePoint.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Note-taking Skills: Excellent note-taking skills with the ability to capture discussions, question and answer sessions, and briefs, and create meeting summaries and minutes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proposal Writing: Experience in proposal writing.
  • Adobe Illustrator: Adobe Illustrator skills.
  • SharePoint Administration: SharePoint administrative experience.
