Event Operations Supervisor

Position: Banquet Captain

As a Banquet Captain, you will play a pivotal role in managing staff and ensuring the flawless execution of events. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional service to our guests while overseeing large-scale gatherings.
Effective communication is key in this position. You will coordinate with various teams to guarantee smooth operations, which may include setting up venues, addressing guest inquiries, preparing for upcoming events, and managing post-event clean-up.

Key Responsibilities:
- Occasionally assist as a banquet server or bartender.
- Coordinate food and beverage orders with kitchen and floor staff.
- Enforce health and safety regulations.
- Understand and uphold service standards, while training others in these practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in fine dining service styles, including set-up and breakdown.
- Maintain polished presentation and communication with VIP clients and management.
- Train new servers with established training protocols.
- Interpret and articulate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Possess advanced knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Exhibit prior leadership experience.
- Maintain flexible availability for full-time shifts.
- Navigate the property efficiently.
- Coordinate vendor load-in and setup.
- Understand event operations, menu details, and proper food handling practices.
- Problem-solve effectively and manage a small team in the absence of a manager.
- Participate in captain meetings.
- Assist management in developing and updating operational checklists.
- Expedite food service during events.
- Create a detailed pre-event checklist.
- Gather guest feedback and relay pertinent information to management.
- Oversee full event closure procedures and secure the facility.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel or banquet environment.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Maintain high energy levels throughout events.
- Capability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to work long hours as needed.
