As a Banquet Captain, you will play a pivotal role in supervising event staff and ensuring the flawless execution of operations. Your commitment to exceptional customer service will be key in managing large-scale events, guaranteeing that every detail is attended to with precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of event staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate effectively with various teams to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Handle multiple tasks, including event setup, guest requests, and post-event cleanup.
  • Occasionally assist in roles such as banquet server or bartender as needed.
  • Manage food and beverage orders in collaboration with kitchen and floor staff.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a secure environment.
  • Train and mentor staff on service standards and best practices.
  • Interpret and articulate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) accurately.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of food and beverage service.
  • Lead a small team effectively in the absence of a manager.
  • Participate in captain meetings and contribute to operational improvements.
  • Gather guest feedback and relay insights to management for continuous enhancement.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel or banquet environment.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain high energy levels throughout events.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to work long hours when necessary.
