**Position Summary:**
This role necessitates proficiency in interpreting intricate schematics and specifications, advanced mathematical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of precision measurement tools. The ideal candidate will possess experience in deciphering complex product blueprints and geometric symbols. A thorough grasp of fundamental quality and process control functions across all production sectors is essential. The technician will maintain a robust knowledge of receiving and final inspection processes to provide assistance as needed.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn and comprehend the Diamond Drives product lines by adhering to quality benchmarks.
  • Familiarize oneself with the Layer Process Audit system in relation to TQMS.
  • Evaluate the technical skills and training requirements of operators, offering guidance and support as necessary.
  • Manage the issuance and retrieval of gauges, instructing operators on their proper usage.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and documentation in accordance with established protocols.
  • Perform laboratory analyses and approve heat-treated products following established sampling guidelines.
  • Execute various physical assessments, including tensile strength and push-off tests.
  • Oversee and support established Statistical Process Control (SPC) applications.
  • Conduct capability studies and gather raw data to assist Engineering and Tool Room initiatives.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming materials.
  • Investigate rejections to determine root causes and ensure effective corrective measures.
  • Audit system compliance and propose system modifications where deficiencies are noted.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Be prepared to assist in production tasks, including welding and parts selection, and perform any additional duties as directed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

**Qualifications:**
A minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is essential. Certification from the American Society of Quality (ASQ) is preferred.

**Skills Required:**
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Competence in writing routine reports and completing necessary production documentation.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with colleagues and customers.
- Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistical inference, and geometry.
- Problem-solving abilities to manage complex issues.

**Physical Demands:**
The role requires frequent standing, sitting, and use of hands/arms. Regular communication and occasional physical activities such as walking, climbing, and lifting are necessary. The ability to lift/move weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds is required, with assistance available for heavier loads.

**Work Environment:**
Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions. Personal protective equipment is mandatory on the plant floor.
