Job Title: Food Safety and Quality Compliance Specialist

Eden Foods, a leading natural foods company, is seeking a highly skilled Food Safety and Quality Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality compliance across our entire product line.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Compliance: Collaborate with our Quality, Safety, and Compliance (QSC) team to maintain accurate documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and TraceGains data that meet food quality, safety, and food defense program requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, certifiers, auditors, and government agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Food Safety Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of supplier companies, personnel, ingredients, food contact surfaces, and packaging materials to minimize contamination and ensure food safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on industry and regulatory developments that may impact our products and QSC issues, attending authorized training sessions as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation supporting regulatory requirements for imported and exported items, manage organic transaction documents, and provide product quality documentation for the Sales Department and customers.
  • Customer Support: Assist the QSC team and customers with quality and food safety issues, providing expert guidance and support.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Microbiology, Biology, or other life science, or equivalent professional experience in the food industry.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of HACCP, FSMA, organic, GMOs, agriculture, and food manufacturing and handling principles.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in computer systems and willing to learn new software and technologies.
  • Professional Ethics: Demonstrate sound moral and ethical professional practices.
