**Position Overview:**
This role necessitates proficiency in interpreting complex drawings and specifications, advanced mathematical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of precision measuring instruments. Candidates should possess a solid foundation in quality and process control functions across all production sectors. The technician will maintain knowledge of receiving and final inspection processes to provide assistance as needed. Responsibilities include crafting standard operating procedures and troubleshooting techniques to effectively document processes and resolve issues.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and comprehend the Diamond Drives product lines by adhering to quality standards.
  • Acquire knowledge of the Layer Process Audit system in relation to TQMS.
  • Evaluate the technical capabilities and training requirements of operators, providing necessary training and support.
  • Manage the issuance and retrieval of gauges, instructing operators on their proper use.
  • Conduct general maintenance, calibration, and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform routine laboratory analyses and approve heat-treated products based on established sampling plans.
  • Execute various physical tests, including tensile strength and pin and bushing push-off tests.
  • Monitor and support established Statistical Process Control (SPC) applications.
  • Conduct capability studies and gather raw data to assist Engineering and Tool Room projects.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming materials.
  • Follow up on rejections to determine causes and ensure effective corrective actions.
  • Audit system compliance and initiate changes where deficiencies are identified.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Assist in production tasks as needed, including welding and parts picking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**
A minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is essential. Certification from the American Society of Quality (ASQ) is preferred.

**Language Skills:**
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and completing necessary production forms. Effective communication skills with colleagues and customers are essential.

**Mathematical Skills:**
Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

**Reasoning Ability:**
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Competence in solving problems involving multiple variables is required.

**Physical Demands:**
The physical demands of this role include frequent standing, sitting, and use of hands/arms. Regular communication and occasional walking, climbing, and lifting are required. The ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally is necessary.

**Work Environment:**
Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.

**Required Personal Protective Equipment:**
Employees must wear appropriate safety eyewear, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and any other required personal protective equipment at all times while on the plant floor.
