Job Summary / Purpose


Under the supervision of healthcare professionals, the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) is tasked with delivering high-quality patient care that ensures the safety and comfort of all individuals.

This role involves performing essential patient care duties through established clinical protocols.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting preliminary health assessments such as measuring vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate effective patient care and achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Providing general patient care in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Welcoming and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Recording vital statistics and medical histories, including allergies and current medications.
  • Collecting specimens for laboratory analysis, including blood samples and urine drug tests.
  • Administering prescribed medications and vaccines through various methods.
  • Scheduling diagnostic tests and ensuring follow-up for completion.
  • Communicating test results and care plans to patients as directed.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in patient examination rooms and sterilizing medical instruments.
  • Documenting patient care plans and examination results accurately in medical records.
  • Addressing non-routine issues by consulting with the practice manager or healthcare providers.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality control measures.
  • Upholding patient privacy and safety standards.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma (or equivalent) and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification as applicable.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within a specified timeframe.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training

Proficiency in performing urine drug screens and administering injections.

Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.

Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.

Familiarity with medical terminology and abbreviations.

Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and composure in emergency situations.

Commitment to maintaining a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients.

Proficient computer skills, particularly in medical management applications.

Exemplary work ethic and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of experience as a medical assistant is preferred.
