Overview

For over three decades, Cater To You has been dedicated to delivering exceptional meals to school children, rooted in the same principles that guided our founders, Kathryn and Anthony Trentacosti, when they prepared meals for their own children. Our commitment to using fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers remains steadfast as we continue to serve a growing community of independent schools.

As a Culinary Supervisor, you will play a vital role in the preparation and cooking of all food items for daily service and special catered events, working closely under the guidance of the Chef Manager. You will also assist in overseeing the kitchen team and managing various administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead food production efforts and assign tasks to kitchen staff.
  • Ensure safe operation of all kitchen equipment, including knives and slicing machines.
  • Maintain proper food handling procedures, ensuring items are heated, cooled, and stored correctly.
  • Foster teamwork among kitchen colleagues and complete all assigned duties, including maintaining cleanliness in all areas.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as ordering and inventory management as directed by the Chef Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity, ethical behavior, and respect in all interactions.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing client and staff needs, demonstrating flexibility in your approach.
  • Possess proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft products, and adapt to new platforms as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of progressive experience in culinary management.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and training skills.
  • Certification in safe food handling or health department regulations.

This position will report directly to the Chef Manager. Salary will be determined based on experience.

This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities and qualifications required for this role. Duties and responsibilities may evolve or new ones may be assigned as necessary.
