About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Hanger, Inc. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a critical role in providing administrative support to patients, fellow employees, and referral sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule patient appointments to ensure timely and efficient care.
  • Insurance Authorization: Obtain and verify insurance authorization for patient treatments.
  • Chart Management: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts and records.
  • Document Scanning and Filing: Scan and file patient documents, ensuring complete and accurate information.
  • Phone Management: Manage incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Financial Counseling: Provide financial counseling to patients and process over-the-counter (OTC) payments.
  • Electronic Health Record Management: Conduct daily research on our electronic health/medical record system.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of customer service, administration, or related experience.
  • License: Valid driver's license and a driving record within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures standards.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to work with diverse populations in multicultural settings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Windows-based office technologies, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and automated billing systems.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of detail orientation.
  • Math and Accounting Skills: Basic math and accounting skills, including the ability to key 40 words per minute with accuracy.
