Job Title: Personalized Learning Services Paraprofessional

Albany County School District #1 is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Personalized Learning Services Paraprofessional to join our team. As a key member of our instructional support staff, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with significant disabilities, ensuring their academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a healthcare professional to meet immediate health care needs and develop children's daily living activities and behavioral skills.
  • Assist medically fragile or physically disabled students getting on and off the school bus to maintain their personal safety.
  • Attend meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information relative to job functions.
  • Communicate with supervising instructional staff and professional support personnel to assist in evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
  • Maintain a variety of materials, such as instructional materials, files, records, and charts, to ensure their availability and meet mandated requirements.
  • Manage assigned activities to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Monitor students during assigned periods within various school environments to maintain a safe and positive school environment.
  • Participate in the implementation of IEP goals to meet district benchmarks.
  • Provide instruction to students in individual and group activities, such as academic subjects, social skills, and daily living skills, under the supervision of assigned teachers.
  • Provide adapted classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher to support and reinforce classroom objectives.
  • Respond to inquiries from various sources to solve problems, provide information, and direct to other sources.
  • Tutor students on assigned class work to provide ongoing support in completing work assignments.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of high school education or GED.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience working in a school.

• Environmental Requirements: encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work outdoors and indoors.

• Mental Requirements: read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile, and coordinate information and records.
