Family Office Manager Job Description

Marcum LLP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Office Manager to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our growing practice, you will be responsible for managing and liaising with clients and their advisors, as well as overseeing the day-to-day management of Family Office staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage client relationships and ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, meeting deadlines, and being proactive and responsive.
  • Oversee the review of checks, bank reconciliation reports, investment reporting, budgets, payroll tax returns, and other financial documents.
  • Develop and implement appropriate controls and procedures, including systems and workflows, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Partner with the Family Office Leader to build the infrastructure of the family office by improving technological resources.
  • Assist in developing and implementing long-term financial plans for clients.
  • Review and maintain tax records to facilitate the preparation of tax returns for various entities.
  • Monitor clients' tax compliance and respond to IRS notices.
  • Manage the calendar of current and/or recurring payments.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in a Family Office or accounting firm.
  • Superb communication and leadership skills, with the ability to problem solve and think creatively.
  • Knowledge of tax law is a plus.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • High integrity, ethics, and values, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient technology skills, including experience in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and other financial software.
