Key Responsibilities- Assist educators in the development of instructional resources and classroom presentations tailored for English learner students in various classroom settings.
- Provide guidance and assistance to English learner students and their families, addressing diverse linguistic needs.
- Under the supervision of a certified teacher, implement instructional activities designed for English learner students, working with them individually or in small groups.
- Communicate any special requirements or concerns regarding individual English learner students to the supervising teacher.
- Offer in-class language assistance for English learner students at varying levels of language proficiency.
- Support Bilingual ESL and Sheltered educators with interventions and tutoring for English learner students as necessary.
- Engage in professional development training to enhance job performance, including participation in campus professional development sessions and collaborative learning communities.
- Attend faculty meetings and special events focused on the needs of English learner students as required.
- Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities related to English learners as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements as applicable to the position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, along with one of the following: an Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, or successful completion of an academic assessment.
- Paraprofessional certification from the State Board of Certification is mandatory.
- Ability to complete tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
- General understanding of child development and behavioral characteristics.
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills necessary for achieving the objectives of the role.
- Familiarity with district operations and administrative policies is preferred.
- Bilingual capabilities (English and another language) are advantageous.
