Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Member Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our branch staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our members, while also meeting sales and service goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process member service transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, account transfers, and address changes.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service to members, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Open new member accounts, explain and cross-sell Credit Union products and services, and complete forms for account openings and processing.
  • Utilize tact and experienced-based knowledge to research and resolve member inquiries, explaining specific policies, procedures, products, and services.
  • Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner, maintaining positive member relations and promoting a positive image of the organization.
  • Perform other member services, operational, loan processing/interviewing, and administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager or Branch Manager.
Loan Interviewing/Processing
  • Receive new loan applications, organize loan packages, and ensure all documentation is present.
  • Decide on loan applications and forward to Loan Officer in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Analyze loan decisions, contact members to notify them of the decision, and discuss payments and terms.
  • Set up loans to be disbursed, fax or mail necessary loan documents, and close loans as necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) education required; AA degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of previous MSR and/or loan processing/interviewing and sales experience in a financial institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Union products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Previous telephone sales experience and ability to meet pre-established sales goals.
  • Strong service orientation, ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously, and excellent verbal, written, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the Internet.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment.
