Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute departmental projects and initiatives related to sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Evaluate projects for improvement and identify opportunities for new sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct research on various topics related to sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Support project managers with procurement-related matters and other duties.
  • Update communications materials, including flyers, website content, and social media posts.
  • Identify and recommend proposals for new sustainability initiatives.
  • Communicate with residents, nonprofits, government agencies, and foundations to promote the culture of sustainability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, Engineering, Economics, Project Management, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • One year of progressively responsible professional experience working on sustainability initiatives.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Preferably a bona-fide resident of the City of Hartford at the time of application.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bilingual.
  • Knowledge of Hartford's neighborhoods and environmental concerns.
  • Advanced software skills, including Excel, GIS, and Photoshop.
