Position Overview

The Mortgage Loan Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the loan origination process by reviewing documentation for compliance with underwriting criteria and ensuring that all submissions are complete. This position involves direct communication with borrowers and mortgage brokers to gather necessary information and serve as a vital link between the origination team, underwriters, and clients. Active MLO Licensing is a prerequisite for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor critical transaction timelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure timely follow-up on loan applications.
  • Manage databases for clients and referral partners effectively.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding loan application and locked status to uphold high-quality service.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to files, bottlenecks, and qualification challenges throughout the production and underwriting phases.
  • Provide administrative assistance in gathering and preparing loan applications along with supporting documents for processing.
  • Coordinate, develop, track, and distribute marketing materials.
  • Perform additional reasonable tasks as assigned by Guild Mortgage Company or the Managing Loan Officer.
Responsibilities also include marketing efforts, database management, and the collection and submission of necessary documentation from clients for completion and signatures. The role involves assisting throughout the production and underwriting processes, preparing and submitting loan applications, resolving file-related issues, and engaging in discussions with customers, vendors, and referral partners regarding rates, statuses, and qualification matters. The Mortgage Loan Support Specialist may also undertake various Loan Officer duties, including but not limited to:
  • Serving as the primary contact for clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the loan process.
  • Gathering accurate and comprehensive loan applications.
  • Evaluating clients' credit and financial situations to recommend suitable loan products and obtain accurate AUS findings.
  • Calculating profitable loan pricing and communicating fees to the operations team.
  • Providing rate quotes and making commitments regarding loan locks to clients.
  • Disclosing initial loan applications and necessary documents to clients in accordance with regulations.
  • Collecting supporting documentation from clients.
  • Discussing product features with clients.
  • Submitting viable loan applications for processing.
  • Reviewing closing documents to ensure consistency with client commitments.
  • Engaging in marketing activities to generate leads and enhance loan production.
Experience Levels

Entry Level: 2 - 5 years of relevant experience.

Advanced Level: 5+ years of relevant experience.
