Job Summary

The Loan Officer Assistant plays a crucial role in the mortgage banking process, providing essential support to originators in building complete loan files for submission. This position involves performing various activities under direct supervision, including Lead to Contract and Contract to Close duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead to Contract Duties:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, handling licensed activities on behalf of loan officers.
    • Assist originators in appointment setting with prospective and new applicants.
    • Provide timely follow-up calls to new leads, maintaining a 35% conversion rate from lead to appointment.
    • Manage calendars, setting and confirming appointments for originators.
    • Offer administrative support, managing client databases and sending pre-qualification links to new clients.
    • Assist originators in obtaining accurate and thorough 1003 forms.
    • Analyze customers' credit and financial scenarios, determining suitable loan products.
    • Run credit checks on assigned loans and prepare Initial Fee Worksheets.
    • Pull and prepare web applications, updating credit reports and AUS findings as needed.
    • Request status updates from pre-approved clients and referral sources.
  • Contract to Close Duties:
    • Monitor key dates related to loan transactions and respond accordingly.
    • Send loan forms, disclosures, and supporting documentation to customers for completion and signature.
    • Manage assigned originators' databases, tracking active loans and entering data as needed.
    • Maintain customer contact, ensuring follow-up of loan applications and providing quality customer service.
    • Support the collection and preparation of loan applications with supporting documentation.
    • Order necessary documents, such as 4506T and SSA, as required.
    • Prepare and submit loan applications to processing, resolving any subsequent file issues.
    • Review CD to ensure fees and cash at closing align with customer commitments.
    • Provide assistance throughout the production and underwriting process.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of experience in mortgage lending or a related field.
  • Active MLO licensing required.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in data entry, PDF software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ethical, with a commitment to company values.
