Job Summary

Stone Diagnostics is a leading provider of diagnostic services, committed to delivering high-quality results with Accuracy, Efficiency, Timeliness, and Ease of Use. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specimen Processor to join our team in a full-time capacity.


Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysis, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols.
  • Verify the acceptability of specimens and chain of custody forms, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assign laboratory accessioning numbers and aliquot specimens, maintaining accurate documentation throughout the process.
  • Discard specimens as necessary, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in maintaining department inventory, ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Prepare samples for shipment, adhering to all security procedures to ensure the confidentiality of donor information.

Working Conditions
  • May be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, loud noises, and blood-borne pathogens, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work under stress, with emergent situations potentially extending working hours or requiring infrequent weekend work.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, with full body movement and flexibility.
  • Ability to cope with stress due to production obligations, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and supervisors, providing input and recommendations on operations as needed.
  • Basic computer skills, with the ability to use a computer for documentation and other tasks.
