Position Overview
We are in search of a dynamic and strategic Manufacturing Operations Leader to oversee our production team in Sedro-Woolley, WA. This role is pivotal in managing the various production departments within our facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skills in production planning and scheduling, ensuring optimal performance across all departments to achieve production targets. Experience in steel fabrication and guiding teams through the manufacturing process is essential. The Manufacturing Operations Leader will be adept at interpreting shop drawings and welding specifications. As a vital member of the leadership team, this individual will supervise department heads, ensuring the seamless execution of the production workflow to deliver superior quality products to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive production schedules and activities for the facility.
- Leverage ERP production planning tools to fulfill production demands.
- Establish and monitor production milestones, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to synchronize production timelines with client delivery schedules.
- Oversee resource allocation across departments to effectively manage shared resource limitations.
- Strategically allocate resources to ensure a steady workflow and mitigate production fluctuations.
- Directly supervise and mentor production department heads, addressing obstacles and challenges.
- Evaluate and enhance departmental capacities to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Work in partnership with department heads and quality assurance teams to uphold stringent quality control standards.
- Proactively address production disruptions and adjust plans and schedules as necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting their professional development.
- Exemplify a strong work ethic, commitment to quality, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Additional responsibilities include reviewing contracts and budgets, fulfilling weekly reporting obligations, and leading daily production meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a Manufacturing Operations Leader or in a comparable role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in production planning, scheduling, and capacity management.
- Proven leadership experience, particularly in managing department heads.
- History of achieving production objectives and delivering projects within set timelines and budgets.
- Exceptional organizational and strategic planning capabilities.
- Ability to analyze and refine production processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems for production planning and scheduling.
- Familiarity with quality control practices in a manufacturing context.
- Experience in structural steel and industrial fabrication is advantageous.
- Knowledge of 3D design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This role involves moderate physical activity within both manufacturing and office settings. The employee will alternate between working at a computer desk and walking throughout the factory. Frequent movement between locations within the facility and interactions in busy or noisy areas are expected. The individual must be capable of reaching overhead, and performing various physical tasks, including bending, standing, sitting, kneeling, and lifting materials weighing up to 40 pounds as needed. Exposure to typical shop conditions such as noise, dust, and fumes is part of the job.
Compensation
$125K - $150K annually, based on experience and qualifications.
