Patient Coordinator / Receptionist

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic patient coordinator with relevant experience to assist in the care of individuals facing behavioral health challenges. This position involves working closely with our healthcare providers and team members in an outpatient environment, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors by greeting them in person or via phone, and addressing inquiries effectively. The role is essential in enhancing patient satisfaction and optimizing the utilization of treatment rooms through efficient appointment scheduling.

The patient coordinator will play a vital role within the clinic team. This is a Full-Time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support documentation and order management.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering calls, welcoming patients, managing check-in/check-out processes, scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, filing insurance claims, and updating medical records.
  • Collect copayments and other fees.
  • Verify patient information by conducting interviews, reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and confirming the purpose of visits or treatments.
  • Maintain accurate records by documenting patient examinations, treatments, and test outcomes.
  • Provide clerical assistance and undertake additional projects as assigned by the office manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with confidence.
  • Willingness to manage both existing and new patient relationships.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, familiarity with EMR systems, and the ability to cater to age-specific behavioral health populations.
