Position Overview

Gilead Sciences, Inc. is dedicated to the discovery, development, and delivery of innovative therapies aimed at enhancing the lives of patients facing severe health challenges globally. As a Senior Clinical Nurse Educator within the Oncology division, your role will encompass providing comprehensive education to healthcare accounts regarding clinical dosing, administration, and disease management related to Gilead's oncology products. This role is pivotal in ensuring that healthcare providers are equipped with accurate and relevant information to support optimal patient care strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver educational sessions to non-physician healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, to facilitate the effective treatment of patients and the safe use of Gilead's oncology products.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge in oncology nursing to engage in clinical dialogues about product information and disease management with healthcare professionals.
  • Present educational content in a clear, concise, and impactful manner, tailored to meet the specific needs of various healthcare accounts while adhering to the guidelines of the Oncology Nurse Educator role.
  • Exhibit a profound understanding of customer needs, regional healthcare dynamics, and industry challenges.
  • Recognize the diverse customer segments and healthcare environments, such as Community Oncology and Academic Institutions.
  • Establish credibility and trust during interactions with healthcare professionals by comprehending their operational practices and decision-making processes.
  • Assess the patient journey to identify educational requirements and leverage approved Gilead resources to fulfill these needs.
  • Create strategic educational plans for accounts with defined objectives, actions, responsibilities, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Commit to the One Oncology key account management approach by engaging cross-functional team members effectively, sharing insights, and aligning with customer needs.
  • Develop and implement a field routing plan to optimize time and impact.
  • Exhibit strong presentation skills, adapting content for various audience sizes and levels of clinical expertise.
  • Uphold the highest professional standards in all interactions with colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with the expectations of the Oncology Nurse Educator role.
  • Exercise sound judgment in managing time and financial resources, including travel and expenses.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner, such as updating customer databases and managing expenses.

Basic Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree with ten years of experience and an active RN license.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree with eight years of experience and an active RN license.
  • Or, a Master's Degree with six years of experience and an active RN license.
  • A Ph.D. with an active RN license is also acceptable.
  • A current RN license in good standing within the relevant territory.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience in hematology/oncology.
  • At least five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including roles as an Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator or recent oncology/hematology nursing experience.
  • Proficient oral, written, and virtual communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise discretion and judgment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
  • Compliance with any onsite visitation requirements of healthcare facilities, as applicable.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) is highly desirable.
