As a Senior Clinical Nurse Educator specializing in Oncology, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive education to healthcare accounts regarding clinical dosing, administration protocols, and disease management associated with Gilead's oncology products. Your educational outreach will encompass:
- Guidelines for dosing on approved indications of Gilead products
- Protocols for administration of Gilead products
- Information on the safety and effectiveness of Gilead products
- Insights into disease states and symptom management strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide education to non-physician healthcare providers (e.g., Nurse Practitioners) and other healthcare professionals (e.g., Nurses, Pharmacists) to facilitate patient treatment and ensure the safe and effective use of Gilead products
- Utilize specialized knowledge as an Oncology Nurse Educator to engage in clinical discussions regarding product information and disease state terminology with clients
- Deliver educational content in a clear, concise, and impactful manner tailored to the specific needs of each account while adhering to the guidelines of the Oncology Nurse Educator role
- Exhibit a deep understanding of customer, regional, and healthcare industry challenges
- Recognize the diverse customer segments (e.g., various nursing specialties) and settings (e.g., Community Oncology, Academic Institutions)
- Establish credibility and trust during client interactions by comprehending individual operational practices, decision-making processes, and standards of care
- Consider the patient journey to identify educational needs and leverage approved Gilead resources to address these needs
- Create impactful educational account plans with defined objectives, actions, responsibilities, timelines, and resource allocation
- Commit to the One Oncology key account management process by engaging cross-functional team members effectively through shared insights and aligning customer needs
- Develop and implement a routing plan to optimize field time and impact
- Exhibit strong presentation skills, adapting presentations for varying audience sizes and levels of clinical expertise
- Uphold the highest professional standards in all interactions with internal colleagues and external stakeholders
- Exercise sound judgment in managing time and financial resources, including travel and expenses
- Complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer databases, expense reports)
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree with ten years of experience and an active RN license
- OR Bachelor's Degree with eight years of experience and an active RN license
- OR Master's Degree with six years of experience and an active RN license
- OR Ph.D. with an active RN license
- Current RN License in good standing within the applicable territory
- Three years of clinical experience in hematology/oncology
- Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including roles as an Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator or recent experience as an oncology/hematology nurse
- Excellent oral, written, and virtual communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise discretion
- Proficient in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel as required, including overnight and occasional weekend travel
- Ability to meet any onsite visitation requirements of healthcare facilities, if applicable
- A valid driver's license is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN)
The salary range for this position is competitive and based on various factors including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This role may also be eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses and benefits packages.
