Opportunity Overview
The Village of Orland Park's state-of-the-art Sportsplex facility is seeking a responsible and patient individual to oversee the Kidz Room as a Building Supervisor. This part-time role will lead and supervise playroom themes, games, and activities, while enforcing playroom policies and supervising Kidz Room staff.
Key Responsibilities
The Kidz Room is a safe space for members to leave their children, ages six months to ten years old, in the care of a trusted professional while they enjoy the benefits of the Sportsplex facility. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest level of comfort, fun, and safety within the Kidz Room by managing entry and exit procedures, interviewing, training, and supervising staff, enforcing and/or adjusting policies as needed, assisting with staff schedule development to ensure coverage during all hours, and creating/implementing ideas for activities and games for the youth in attendance on a daily basis.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
A high school degree is required, with coursework and/or training in early childhood development or education preferred. Prior related experience with childcare is required, along with knowledge and competency in the area of childcare. Prior customer service experience is preferred. The ability to multi-task and implement creative age-appropriate themes, games, and activities is necessary. Must have a high level of patience and be able to work in a noisy environment.
Work Schedule and Compensation
This role is scheduled Monday through Friday, up to twenty hours per week. Morning availability is appreciated, with the option to occasionally cover nights and weekends as needed. Hourly pay rate: $18.35 DOQ. All candidates of interest are encouraged to apply.
