SUMMARY
The Massachusetts Housing Consumer Education Centers (HCEC's) serve as a vital resource for residents facing various housing-related challenges.

Under the guidance of the HCEC Supervisor, the Housing Resource Advisor is tasked with performing intake assessments and providing direction to resources for individuals and families seeking assistance at NeighborWorks Housing Solutions. The goal is to prevent homelessness, sustain current housing, explore new housing options, facilitate home purchases, and enhance financial stability.

This role also involves conducting workshops, both online and in-person, to promote housing education and resource accessibility.

The position necessitates independent judgment and decision-making capabilities, alongside active collaboration with external partners. Flexibility to travel to various locations to meet community needs is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage with clients individually, both in-person and through electronic means, to provide education, guidance, and referrals.
Evaluate and identify client needs to ensure appropriate referrals to internal and external programs.
Maintain ongoing communication with clients and update their records with accurate notes.
Assist clients with housing applications, resources, and other supportive services as required.
Foster relationships with community organizations and develop additional partnerships with the support of the HCEC Supervisor.
Deliver presentations on housing resources to community groups.
Keep current information on community resources.
Adhere to all state and federal contract requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely client records are maintained in our internal management system.

Job Requirements & Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS


Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and engage professionally with internal and external departments to promote client success.

Knowledge of relevant state, federal, and local programs and resources.
Capability to maintain detailed client records for each interaction to ensure compliance with program standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to operate standard office equipment effectively.
Preferred bilingual skills to serve a diverse community with various language needs.
Previous experience in housing, finance, social services, or real estate sectors.
Effective oral and written communication skills, ensuring timely and concise interactions.
Ability to engage and work with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
Valid driver's license or the ability to travel independently between offices and events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
This role requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. The ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds is necessary. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. The majority of work is performed in an office environment.
