Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Housing Services Manager will be responsible for supervising all re-housing and stabilization initiatives for families within the Family Services Division. This role involves providing structure and guidance to our Supportive Housing Program, along with all community-based rapid re-housing services. The Housing Services Manager will actively seek, secure, and sustain affordable housing options for families, while fostering self-sufficiency, empowerment, and stability. This position embodies the values of compassion, integrity, respect, and accountability.

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT DUTIES:
  • Lead the Old Colony YMCA in creating a housing network involving public and private housing organizations and landlords.
  • Coordinate rapid re-housing and stabilization services for the Family Services Division.
  • Assist the case management team in formulating a strength-based re-housing and stabilization assessment plan tailored for each family.
  • Track families' progress and efforts in their housing search and placement.
  • Accompany families to property viewings and lease signings.
  • Develop and sustain housing resources, programs, and benefits for the Family Services Division.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with landlords and housing agencies, both public and private.
  • Organize and update housing inventory with relevant information.
  • Collaborate with program staff to address families' needs, overcome obstacles, and set self-sufficiency goals.
  • Conduct outreach to identify permanent housing resources within communities.
  • Evaluate clients' financial situations, credit histories, and background checks to identify potential housing barriers.
  • Facilitate housing workshops and orientation sessions for clients upon program entry.
  • Make necessary accommodations (e.g., space, transportation) to support families in their housing search.
  • Maintain regular communication with Case Managers to monitor families' progress in meeting housing search requirements and address any challenges.
  • Oversee family maintenance in housing and manage Rapid-Rehousing stabilization plans for up to 18 months post-placement.
  • Promote a supportive environment within the program by assisting clients in identifying and resolving social and other issues.
  • Keep accurate and confidential client records.
  • Participate in staff meetings, clinical discussions, community gatherings, and training sessions as directed by the Director.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in human services, residential settings, or housing programs.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
  • Proven success in non-profit housing organizations and community partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist individuals in securing affordable, permanent housing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong skills in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and business writing.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of navigating three flights of stairs.
  • Willingness to perform snow removal as needed.
