Job Summary

Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Human Resources Representative to provide comprehensive support for HR administration. Key Responsibilities
  • Support all aspects of new hire onboarding and offboarding, including collecting information, preparing forms, and entering data for position and salary changes, visa applicants, visiting scholars, and students.
  • Coordinate with payroll and maintain personnel databases, files, and records.
  • Monitor, triage, and respond to routine HR inquiries via in-person, email, and phone.
  • Assist with approval of staff timesheets and run, review, and act as needed on personnel reports.
  • Send reminders before extension or termination for temporary appointments.
  • Assist managers with recruitment and draft and edit HR correspondence and presentations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of experience in an administrative office support position.
  • Discretion and tact with confidential information, excellent interpersonal attention to detail, and organization skills.
  • Robust verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle competing work assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sense of ethics, integrity, and responsibility for own actions.
  • Ability to follow and apply appropriate laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook, Google, Zoom, and reporting and database software.
  • Ability to learn new applications and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources Management.
  • Higher education professional experience.
  • Experience with MIT systems.
  • Ability to analyze, create, or improve processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, performance management, and QuickBase software.
  • Experience recruiting and onboarding employees.
  • Interest in developing as a Human Resources professional.
