Sterile Processing Technician

As a Sterile Processing Technician at Prisma Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Decontaminate and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using various methods, including autoclaving and chemical disinfection.
- Assemble and prepare instrument trays and sets according to established protocols.
- Document all activities related to instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization in the Instrument Tracking System.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies, reporting any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective processing of instruments and equipment.
- Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT) is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 6 months of experience in a hospital or clinical setting may be accepted in lieu of education.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
