Sterile Processing Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our Central Sterile Processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, sort, and process contaminated instruments using established procedures and guidelines.
- Assemble instrument sets according to prescribed methods and document any missing items.
- Sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies using various types of autoclaves and aerators.
- Document all activities related to instrument set assembly and sterilization in the Instrument Tracking System.
- Observe and interpret biological, mechanical, and chemical monitors relevant to processing/sterilizing.
- Issue items to customers and departments according to established procedures.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of department equipment.
- Successful completion of Central Sterile Processing Education Program with certificate or proof of completion.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech training program.
- 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology preferred.
- Certification as a Central Supply or Central Sterile Processing Tech preferred.
