Your Role

The School of Medicine at UC Irvine is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Primary Care Associates department. This team provides comprehensive clinical services to patients of all ages across various locations in Orange County, CA. Clinical sites include multiple communities, ensuring broad access to healthcare services.

As a Physician Assistant, you will conduct thorough patient interviews, compile detailed medical histories, and perform initial and ongoing physical assessments. You will evaluate patient behavior and understand their health needs, while also executing or ordering necessary diagnostic tests and interpreting results. Your role will involve developing and implementing both short-term and long-term treatment strategies, collaborating with healthcare professionals while maintaining responsibility for patient management.

This position requires a highly skilled, independent, yet collaborative individual. Under the guidance of an Associate Physician, you will engage in the holistic care of patients, offering multidisciplinary coordination, treatment, education, and effective communication with patients and referring physicians. As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will possess the advanced education and clinical expertise necessary to deliver specialized care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating medical and functional conditions and creating treatment plans.
  • Managing chronic stable medical conditions and providing routine and acute care.
  • Utilizing specialized medical equipment and adhering to privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrating leadership and teamwork in a clinical setting.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Current California Physician Assistant license and DEA registration.
  • National board certification by the NCCPA.
  • Experience in primary care and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
