Your Responsibilities

The School of Medicine at the University of California Irvine is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join the Primary Care Associates department. This team provides essential clinical services to patients across various locations in Orange County, CA. The role involves conducting thorough patient interviews, compiling detailed medical histories, and performing comprehensive physical examinations.

As a Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for executing or ordering necessary diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and formulating both short-term and long-term treatment strategies. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is crucial, as you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team while maintaining accountability for ongoing patient care.

This position requires a highly skilled, independent, and team-oriented individual. Under the guidance of an Associate physician, you will engage in comprehensive patient care within both outpatient and inpatient settings, ensuring effective treatment coordination, education, and communication with patients and referring physicians.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Current, unrestricted California Physician Assistant license.
  • National board certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience in primary care settings.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships within a healthcare team.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire a collaborative approach to patient care.
  • Understanding of quality improvement practices to enhance patient outcomes.
