Job Overview:
The Mixologist is tasked with crafting food and beverage selections, serving drinks and meals to guests while adhering to state and federal age regulations, and coordinating activities within the lounge/bar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with age requirements for alcohol purchases.
- Present menus, respond to inquiries, and take orders for food and beverages from patrons and/or serving staff.
- Prepare drink orders, including a variety of wines, liquors, and beers.
- Prepare appetizers and food items following established recipes and standards.
- Monitor seating arrangements in the lounge/bar area to ensure all guests receive timely service.
- Calculate bills and process payments; maintain accurate sales receipts.
- Address potential issues related to excessive drinking by taking appropriate actions, including discontinuing service and notifying management.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar, work areas, tables, glasses, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure the kitchen and lounge stations are organized and stocked at the end of each shift.
- Plan, organize, and oversee operations within the lounge/bar area.
- Prepare garnishes by slicing and pitting fruits.
- Arrange bottles and glasses for appealing displays.
- Create and innovate drink recipes.
- Conduct weekly inventory of liquor, food supplies, and equipment; order or requisition supplies as necessary.
- Maintain daily logs for temperature and waste management.
- Inspect foodstuffs and supplies upon receipt to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards.
- Ensure proper reporting of tips for tax purposes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Three to six months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Alcohol Awareness Certification in compliance with state regulations.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly; develop alternative solutions and exercise reason in emotional situations.
- Capable of managing challenging customer interactions; respond promptly to service requests.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism; treat others with respect and consideration.
- Knowledgeable in interpreting and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Familiar with safety and security protocols; report unsafe conditions and use equipment properly.
- Ability to clearly express ideas and information, both orally and in writing.
- Dependable in meeting work schedule demands; may require flexibility to work outside of regular hours.
