Assistant Director of Advancement and Events

The University of Minnesota's College of Science and Engineering (CSE) is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Assistant Director of Events and Engagement. This exciting opportunity involves planning and executing events and programs that enhance alumni engagement, drive annual and major giving, and strengthen donor stewardship. About the Job Responsibilities
This role entails designing, collaborating on, and executing events and programs, including receptions, reunions, luncheons, dinners, facility tours, hosted athletic events, lectures, meetings, webinars, and more. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Events and Director of Alumni Relations to ensure these events are aligned with the vision, philanthropic priorities, and campaign initiatives of CSE and the University. Additionally, this position involves building and maintaining relationships with alumni, donors, and volunteers to enrich their lives and advance the University's goals. The individual will also represent the University to stakeholders as an informed ambassador, fostering lifelong, trust-based relationships with alumni and friends.
About the Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized professional with a bachelor's degree from a four-year institution and minimum 4 years of experience in event planning, marketing, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, commitment to customer service, and ability to manage multiple projects under pressure are essential qualities for this role. Furthermore, the selected individual will be able to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. A flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and evenings, is required for this position.
About the Compensation
The University of Minnesota offers a competitive salary range of $55,000-$70,000, depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
