Job Title: Garmage Cook

Job Summary:

The Garmage Cook is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food to the highest standards. This role requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Cook food items such as meats, entrees, vegetables, sauces, and gravies according to a preassigned schedule.
  • Menu Preparation: Assist with preparation and production of menu items following standardized recipes and procedures, using equipment such as grills, fryers, steamers, ranges, broilers, steam kettles, and ovens.
  • Team Support: Relieve the Cook 3 of routine operations when needed and assist in special cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Follow safety/sanitation procedures in the handling of food/equipment and maintain efficient standards of operation and time preparation periods.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and wash/clean kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Special Events: May be required to assist in the setting up, serving, and cooking of menu items required for special functions, catered events, or buffets.
  • Communication: Attend staff meetings and communicate effectively with team members.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Experience: Equivalent to at least three years of related experience in quantity cooking.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of materials/methods used in preparation of food on a large scale, kitchen sanitation and safety measures, and principles, procedures, and equipment used in the storage, care, preparation, cooking, and dispensing of food in large quantity.
  • Skill: Ability to work with others cooperatively, delegate duties to kitchen employees, and prepare and cook all food groups.
  • Certification: Food safety certification.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position operates in a kitchen environment, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50lbs, and work in hot, humid, or noisy environments.

Requirements:

This is a full-time position, 40+ hours/week, as job duties demand.
