Position Overview:

Stanford University, a leading institution in research and education, is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Compliance Auditor. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the university's mission of enhancing human welfare through rigorous evaluation and oversight.

Role Purpose:

The Compliance Auditor will be responsible for executing financial, operational, and compliance assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of systems, processes, and controls within the university.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a variety of financial, operational, and compliance evaluations in alignment with established auditing standards.
  • Perform follow-up assessments to monitor the implementation of corrective actions taken by management in response to audit findings.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation to substantiate conclusions and results derived from thorough analyses.
  • Draft written observations and relevant information for audit reports.
  • Effectively communicate audit findings through written reports.
  • Collaborate with university resources to investigate suspected irregularities.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree coupled with two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong analytical capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and proficient written and verbal communication skills are essential. Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing is advantageous. A solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards is required.

Certifications:
Preferred certifications include Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant.

Work Environment:
