Position Overview:
Stanford University is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Office of the Chief Risk Officer as an Internal Auditor. This role offers an opportunity to engage in significant financial, operational, and compliance audits, contributing to the enhancement of our institution's effectiveness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of financial, operational, and compliance audits in alignment with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
- Perform follow-up reviews to evaluate the progress of management's corrective actions in response to audit findings.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation to substantiate audit conclusions and results based on thorough analyses.
- Draft written observations and relevant information for audit reports.
- Effectively communicate audit results through written reports.
- Collaborate with other university resources to investigate suspected irregularities.
- Foster productive relationships with clients and staff.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
For the I Level: A Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
For the J Level: A Bachelor's degree with four years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
Essential Skills:
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate a range of factors effectively.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Certifications:
Preferred certifications include Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional extended hours during peak business cycles.
