Join Pure Storage as a Mechanical Engineer

Pure Storage is a leading provider of data storage solutions, and we're seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer at Pure, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing our DirectFlash Modules (DFMs), which are the heart of our storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical and thermal aspects of our DFMs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DFMs into new storage systems
  • Work with Hardware Engineers to design circuit boards that optimize cost, power, airflow, and cooling
  • Develop test plans for internal designs and review ODM/JDM test plans for interoperability with DFMs
  • Own mechanical designs from concept to sustaining
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in related product design roles
  • 3D CAD experience with ProE/Creo Parametric or equivalent
  • FloTherm modeling and correlation experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal, die cast, plastic injection molding, thermal, heatsink, thermal interface material, and airflow design
  • Hands-on experience with detail sheet metal/plastic/die-cast/extrusion design and prototyping
  • Experience with CAD, tolerance analysis, thermal tradeoffs, DFx
  • Track record of delivering high-quality, high-volume electronics
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Can-do attitude is a must
