Position Summary:
We are looking for a committed Environmental Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to environmental regulations across numerous construction sites in Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be tasked with performing inspections, upholding compliance with local and state regulations, and safeguarding environmental standards to protect both the organization and natural ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of solar construction sites in accordance with the regulations established by the Department of Environmental Protection and the Pennsylvania Erosion & Sediment Control Manual.
- Organize and maintain documentation related to Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
- Assess and prioritize tasks based on urgency, weather conditions, contractual commitments, and regulatory timelines.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with officials at the state and county levels.
- Employ problem-solving skills to identify and address erosion and other environmental challenges, utilizing knowledge of the Pennsylvania Erosion & Sediment Control Manual and Best Management Practices (BMPs).
- Strictly comply with all applicable environmental laws and permitting requirements.
- Identify and promptly communicate any environmental issues to the environmental compliance manager and site manager.
- Be prepared to travel extensively throughout Pennsylvania, including overnight stays, to fulfill site coverage requirements.
- Demonstrate self-sufficiency in managing priorities and time to ensure all responsibilities are completed effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic technological proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Valid driver's license.
- Physically capable of traversing long distances in various outdoor environments.
