About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Architect to join our team at McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Provide design direction and oversight for projects, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetics.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project goals and objectives are met.
  • Design Development: Develop and refine project designs, including creating and presenting design concepts, and coordinating with internal and external teams.
  • Construction Administration: Oversee the construction process, including reviewing and approving shop drawings, submittals, and responding to RFIs.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Requirements
  • Professional Degree: Hold a professional degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program.
  • Registration: Be registered as a licensed architect.
  • Experience: Have 6-8 years of combined experience as a design professional and/or architect.
  • Skills: Possess proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Revit, as well as a firm grasp of building technology fundamentals.
  • Communication: Demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree: Hold a Master's Degree in Architecture.
  • Software Proficiency: Have experience with Newforma Project Center and/or Newforma Project Analyzer, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam PDF Revu.
  • Certifications: Possess additional relevant certifications indicating expertise in construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc.
