Role Responsibilities:

The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering direct care to residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Administering physical therapy interventions based on individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist.
  2. Supporting the Physical Therapist during assessments, evaluations, and advanced treatment procedures.
  3. Monitoring and documenting patient conditions, responses, and progress, and reporting findings to the supervising therapist.
  4. Maintaining accurate records of therapy sessions and progress notes as instructed.
  5. Assisting with the initial assessment of new residents.
  6. Collaborating with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  7. Ensuring the upkeep of the physical therapy department and its equipment.
  8. Participating in training sessions and team meetings as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  9. Engaging in ongoing education to stay current in clinical practices and standards.
  10. Complying with regulatory and professional standards set forth by HealthPRO Heritage.
  11. Contributing to rehabilitation team discussions regarding patient progress and needs.
  12. Adhering to facility policies and engaging in quality improvement initiatives.
  13. Performing additional duties as assigned.
  14. Understanding reimbursement processes and efficiently managing therapy resources in alignment with patient goals.
  15. Demonstrating knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.
  16. Exhibiting a professional demeanor that fosters trust in our rehabilitation program.
  17. Working independently while recognizing when supervision is required and assisting colleagues as needed.
  18. Meeting expected productivity levels as discussed for your role.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  2. Possession of a current license or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice.
  3. Experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail.
  5. Ability to follow the Physical Therapist's instructions and facility protocols.
  6. Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, pushing, and balancing as required.
