Position: Business Analyst - TLM / Reconciliation

Location: Tampa, FL

Job Overview:

1. Investment Banking Expertise: Exhibit a thorough understanding of investment banking operations, including the trade lifecycle, asset classes, financial instruments, and regulatory frameworks. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory updates within the investment banking sector. Utilize this expertise to analyze intricate business requirements and offer strategic recommendations for process and system enhancements.

2. Development of Business Reporting Frameworks: Design and implement robust business reporting frameworks to support investment banking operations. Collaborate with stakeholders to ascertain reporting needs and convert them into actionable data models and reporting solutions. Create data visualization tools and dashboards to effectively present complex data in a user-friendly manner, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and reliability through appropriate validation and quality control measures.

3. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Gather, organize, and analyze substantial volumes of data from diverse sources, including transactional systems, market data feeds, and external data providers. Conduct data profiling, mapping, and transformation activities to maintain data consistency and accuracy. Employ statistical techniques and data mining methods to extract valuable insights and identify trends. Present analysis results to stakeholders clearly and concisely, including written reports and visual presentations.

4. Reconciliation Responsibilities: Conduct reconciliations of investment banking data, including trade confirmations, settlements, cash balances, and positions. Identify discrepancies and collaborate with relevant teams to investigate and resolve issues promptly. Develop and implement reconciliation processes and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy, while monitoring reconciliation activities and reporting on key performance indicators.

5. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Engage with business users, technology teams, compliance officers, and operations teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Work together with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for measuring and monitoring investment banking performance. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including presenting findings, recommendations, and project updates.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a related role within the investment banking sector.

- Familiarity with domains such as Equities, FX and Derivatives, Payments, Trade Finance, Custody, Asset Servicing, and Syndicated Loans is advantageous.

- Proficient in developing and implementing business reporting frameworks and data visualization tools.

- Hands-on experience with data analysis and interpretation, including data mapping, transformation, and statistical analysis.

- Understanding of reconciliation processes and their significance in investment banking operations.

- Strong grasp of data quality principles and techniques.

- Proficient in data analysis tools, data manipulation languages, and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.

- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
