As a Customer Service Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Professionally and enthusiastically responding to incoming calls and electronic inquiries from patients and their families, assisting with patient registration, scheduling healthcare appointments, addressing questions, managing complaints, troubleshooting issues, and providing information on behalf of the organization.
  • Ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely registration of new patients to facilitate optimal service and financial reimbursement.
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies or missing information while accurately entering data into the electronic medical record system.
  • Verifying insurance coverage or determining patient self-pay responsibilities and providing cost information. Scheduling appointments with financial counselors when necessary.
  • Scheduling healthcare appointments based on patient needs and requests, in accordance with system and clinic guidelines. Interpreting physician orders to schedule appointments and ancillary tests.
  • Communicating appointment details and any necessary preparations for testing, along with required paperwork and payment information to ensure timely arrival and preparedness for appointments.
  • Composing clerical and clinical messages related to patients from family members and healthcare professionals to administrative and provider staff. Identifying urgent patient situations based on caller information and coordinating immediate triage.
  • Calming upset callers by maintaining a composed and professional demeanor, while identifying and escalating priority issues for resolution.
The ideal candidate will possess: 2+ years of experience in a call center environment, with knowledge of medical terminology being a plus.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $15 - $17 Per Hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including education, work experience, location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
