Clinical Laboratory Specialist

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Marshall Medical Center performs a variety of complex laboratory tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct various chemical, microscopic, microbiological, and hematological tests to obtain accurate data for diagnosis and treatment
• Record and maintain accurate laboratory test data, patient information, and quality control records
• Participate in quality control procedures, review, and corrective action to ensure high-quality results
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments, and use materials judiciously
• Assist in training new laboratory personnel, externs, and students, and handle infectious materials with care
Requirements
• Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions
This role requires the ability to work in a laboratory setting, with exposure to chemicals, biological agents, and other hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a team environment, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
