Key Responsibilities

OBXtek is seeking a Senior Acquisition Specialist to support the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Acquisition Support Services contract. This role is crucial in delivering a wide array of acquisition services aimed at effective program management in space-related research, development, production, operations, and maintenance.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with leadership within the Directorate and provide essential support to Space Force clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating comprehensive program overviews and executive summaries, identifying major program challenges, collecting contract information, and monitoring program milestones and statuses.
  • Assessing program health and execution capabilities, evaluating cost, schedule, and technical risks, and formulating mitigation strategies while consolidating efficiency initiatives identified by program managers.
  • Understanding the program's critical path, integrating performance data with the baseline, interpreting acquisition program thresholds, and verifying costs against the approved budget.
  • Tracking changes to the program baseline, capturing high-level logistics, test and evaluation readiness, and maintaining a list of program office contacts to ensure accurate and timely acquisition reporting.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of government-approved systems for generating acquisition reports and maintaining data consistency for leadership review.
  • Identifying and reporting discrepancies to the government and submitting draft inputs to the relevant program office prior to final approval.
Salary Range

$135,000 - $220,000/year

Qualifications

US Citizenship and a current Secret Clearance are required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree (MA/MS) in a relevant field such as Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Statistics.
  • A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in high-visibility or mission-critical program aspects, performing all functional duties independently and supervising personnel in the same field.
  • Proven ability to advise, innovate, optimize, and provide comprehensive recommendations to senior government leaders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with DoD, Air Force, and/or Space Force tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Business is preferred; a degree in an unrelated field requires an additional 2 years of relevant experience or a professional certification.
  • APDP Level III or equivalent certification is desired.
