Role Summary:

The Mortgage Operations Specialist is tasked with ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of various mortgage files, including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and in-house loans. This role is pivotal in supporting the loan origination team by managing the mortgage processing workflow efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and issue all necessary regulatory disclosures in compliance with applicable guidelines.
  2. Review and gather required documentation from loan originators and external sources, including verifications of employment, deposits, appraisals, title commitments, and flood certifications.
  3. Submit loan applications for underwriting review.
  4. Update loan files based on underwriter feedback and conditions.
  5. Collect essential documents for closing, such as homeowners insurance, payoff statements, and deeds.
  6. Maintain ongoing communication with loan officers and sales associates throughout the loan processing cycle.
  7. Coordinate closing activities with relevant parties.
  8. Monitor and manage the weekly pipeline report.
  9. Prepare loan files for withdrawal or denial as necessary.

Performance Expectations:

Adherence to the following standards is essential:

  • Initial disclosures must be issued within TRID guidelines.
  • Third-party document requests should be monitored and completed within 48 hours.
  • Conditions from underwriting must be communicated to loan officers within 24 hours.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in banking; prior experience in mortgage banking is preferred.
