Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist II to join our team at IMI plc. As a key member of our Industrial Automation division, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) work centers to machine a wide variety of standard and special component parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC work centers to perform progressive turning, drilling, and tapping machine operations to produce stated quantities of component parts.
  • Install and adjust various types of tooling in the work centers.
  • Insert computer programs into CNC work centers and make standard adjustments to tooling programs and operating parameters.
  • Cut and position raw materials into machine center jaws/fixtures.
  • Monitor ongoing operations through machine cycles and load and unload work centers as necessary.
  • Inspect parts for stated dimensions and surface imperfections.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to identify problems affecting machining operations.
  • Modify cutting tools as necessary.
  • Prepare required paperwork and place completed work in designated locations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Notify supervisory personnel of equipment and operating difficulties.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in CNC machining operations.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production-scheduling requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
