Employee Relations Specialist

The Global Corporate Employee Relations team at Amazon is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to support our general and administrative teams. This role requires a professional with significant employee relations experience, deep subject matter expertise, and strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Balancing reactive and proactive work is a critical component for success in this position.
- Lead the design, development, and execution of proactive initiatives that improve the employee experience.
- Analyze complex data sets, develop recommendations, and influence action by senior leaders.
- Work directly with employees at all levels to identify, address, and resolve concerns through conflict resolution and one-on-one coaching.
- Design and conduct positive employee relations trainings and other capability-building initiatives.
This role reports to the Principal, Global Corporate Employee Relations. We value innovation and recognize that sometimes requires uninterrupted time to focus on a build. We also value in-person collaboration and time spent face-to-face.
Requirements- At least seven (7) years of direct experience in employee relations, human resources, or employment/labor law with an emphasis on employee relations work.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working with and applying employment & labor laws throughout the United States.
- Technically proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced degree, law degree, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations.
- Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling the individual to establish productive partnerships and work collaboratively across multiple management levels and personalities.
- Labor Relations knowledge and experience.
- Outstanding written communication skills and the ability to independently develop effective executive-level messaging, reports, and presentations.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills in a highly ambiguous environment with the capacity to work autonomously to simultaneously manage competing priorities.
- Experience working with quantitative and qualitative data to identify root causes, recognize patterns, and develop creative, innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion.
