The Global Corporate Employee Relations team at Amazon is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to support our general and administrative teams. This role requires a professional with significant employee relations experience, deep subject matter expertise, and strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Balance time between reactive/crisis-response matters and proactive work to drive positive employee relations and best practices.
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of proactive initiatives that improve the employee experience.
  • Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to drive and sustain positive employee relations.
  • Collect and analyze employee feedback and insights to inform business decisions.
  • Work directly with employees at all levels to identify, address, and resolve concerns through conflict resolution and one-on-one coaching.
A Day in the Life

The Employee Relations Manager will work closely with the Principal, Global Corporate Employee Relations, to ensure our organization's treatment of every employee is fair, respectful, and consistent with our core business values, policies, and objectives. This role will involve leading the response to critical ER/LR issues, conducting workplace investigations, and advising on challenging employee situations.

About the Team

The position reports to the Principal, Global Corporate Employee Relations, and is part of a team that values innovation and recognizes the importance of uninterrupted time to focus on building. The team also values in-person collaboration and offers a flexible, hybrid work model.

Requirements
  • At least seven (7) years of direct experience in employee relations, human resources, or employment/labor law with an emphasis on employee relations work.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working with and applying employment & labor laws throughout the United States.
  • Technically proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree, law degree, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling the individual to establish productive partnerships and work collaboratively across multiple management levels and personalities.
  • Labor Relations knowledge and experience.
  • Outstanding written communication skills and the ability to independently develop effective executive-level messaging, reports, and presentations.

This is a full-time position that could require significant travel, up to ~40% of the time over the course of the year. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Arlington, VA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA.
