Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Blood Collection Specialist to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a key member of our blood collection team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team to transport and set up equipment at blood collection sites in local communities.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the donation process.
  • Follow all safety procedures to collect lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals.
  • Utilize your healthcare and customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are essential.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
  • Prior leadership experience.
