IT Systems Specialist

Overview:


The IT Systems Specialist at Bell Ambulance is responsible for providing comprehensive support for both server and desktop environments, ensuring optimal performance across our technological infrastructure.

This role collaborates closely with IT and operational teams to empower our emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, facilitating the delivery of top-tier emergency care as the leading ambulance service provider in Wisconsin.

Your technical skills will be leveraged within a virtualized Windows Server setting to uphold and enhance our IT framework.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the IT Systems Specialist may encompass, but are not limited to:

1. Constructing, repairing, configuring, and deploying Windows Virtual Machines within our advanced Nutanix environment.

2. Overseeing System Center Configuration Manager deployments.

3. Managing McAfee security updates and scrutinizing logs for potential security threats.

4. Monitoring backup systems to guarantee Disaster Recovery (Commvault SaaS) preparedness and business continuity.

5. Developing, modifying, and sustaining Group Policy frameworks for the organization.

6. Creating and implementing custom scripts to automate repetitive tasks, enhancing operational efficiency.

7. Documenting processes, systems, and infrastructures to ensure seamless business continuity.

G Suite Administration:

Handling daily Active Directory synchronization, scripting tasks to enhance end-user functionality interfacing with G Suite, and developing productivity tools as required for various departments including Dispatch, Operations, Marketing, and Human Resources.

8. Administering miscellaneous aspects of the 8x8 Phone System.

9. Managing the MobiControl Mobile Management platform and associated devices.

10. Building, updating, and maintaining in-squad hardware and software resources, which include wireless connectivity units, power distribution systems, mobile laptops, tablets, smartphones, and more.


11. Assisting in long-term systems initiatives aimed at enhancing Bell Ambulance's Disaster Recovery capabilities, security measures, user productivity, and crucially, EMS crew efficiency as necessary.

12. Providing Level 2 helpdesk support for daily requests.

13. Participating in the "On Call" support rotation alongside other IT team members.

14. Undertaking various additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:


The IT Systems Specialist should possess recent experience with server hardware, operating systems, Nutanix, group policy, SCCM, backup solutions, virtual machine management tools, user account and security administration, email configuration and management, data file management/storage, scripting/programming concepts, OS patching/updates, anti-virus management, disaster recovery solutions, capacity management, performance monitoring, uninterruptible power supply, and project management.


Education and Experience:
Must have completed an accredited college or university program with an Associate's degree or higher in information technology, systems engineering, computer science, or equivalent professional experience;

AND


possess a minimum of four (4) years of RECENT full-time, professional experience in configuring, administering, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining IT systems.
