ROLE SUMMARY:

The individual in this position will be tasked with reaching out to potential clients from a list provided by the Company. Delivery of parts may also be required as necessary.

POSITION DETAILS:

This role involves contacting prospective clients from a list supplied by the Company, with the possibility of delivering parts as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to customer inquiries and process orders from inventory.
  2. Access parts information via computer systems and CD-ROMs to verify availability, pricing, and alternatives.
  3. Stay informed about quality improvement bulletins, service updates, and vehicle modifications to advise customers on parts replacement needs.
  4. Manage inventory of necessary parts on and off delivery vehicles.
  5. Verify customer account credit status following parts delivery.
  6. Collect payments from customers with overdue accounts.
  7. Accept payments from cash or C.O.D. customers at the time of delivery.
  8. Inspect returned parts or cores for defects after issuing credit.
  9. Process credit for cores or returned parts promptly after inspection.
  10. Investigate customer accounts to issue correct invoices for returned items.
  11. Identify potential new customers for parts sales.
  12. Complete necessary documentation for warranty-covered parts and return them to the warranty clerk.
  13. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the delivery vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma required; a minimum of 2 years of experience with heavy-duty truck parts and automotive components.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English; capable of interacting effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Must possess and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to keep accurate records, submit call sheets weekly, and communicate any customer issues to the Parts Manager.
  • Must demonstrate mental flexibility to manage stressful situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to drive long distances.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs from floor to waist height and 25 lbs to shoulder height.
